Back to Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, 2008. After thirty-three years spent in Italy, Mariano Guerra returns to Argentina to testify at the trial against the former military officers who kidnapped, tortured, and enslaved him during the military dictatorship. Together with other survivors, he is hosted in accommodation provided by the Ministry of Justice, where he reunites with people who shared his captivity and waits for the day of his testimony. The days spent with the other witnesses, the encounters, and the testimonies bring back to light stories that had remained unresolved for decades. Mariano is one of the few survivors of that tragedy and carries a burden that no sentence can ever ease. His return to Buenos Aires forces him to confront what it means to have survived.
