DIALOGUES Documentary Producers: How They Did It

In these challenging times for documentary funding and distribution, producers are constantly finding new ways to pull off their projects. We hear from three veteran producers with new works having World Premieres in TIFF Docs: Dan Cogan (Rapinoe; Icarus); Sigrid Jonsson Dyekjær (Low Lies the Land; The Cave); Ina Fichman (Ba’s Book; Fire of Love). They’ll share experiences with multiple ways of getting films made, including international co-productions, pre-sales, and equity funding, as well as navigating agents, distributors, and Oscar campaigns.
