Having a Moment: Canadian Documentaries

Summit

Synopsis

Canadian documentaries are more plentiful at TIFF than ever before. We’ll hear from the directors behind three of those works making their World Premieres. In the Gala programme, Scot McFayden pays tribute to the legendary Rush drummer with Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple. In the TIFF Docs programme, Mila Aung-Thwin profiles a one-time bank robber who now tests the levels of human endurance in The Ultra Runner, and Alexandra Lazarowich follows three aspiring Indigenous hip-hop artists in Turtle Island Rap. Moderated by Real Screen editor Barry Walsh.
